A Pioneer in Nutrition

Though, indeed, there are still plenty of areas for further development in nutrition, it is important to note the individual's findings and discoveries it took to get us where we are today. I would like to use my voice on this blog to recognize one of these individuals, in particular, Weston A. Price.
Weston was a twentieth-century nutritionist who led us to understand how the food we eat affects our health. Price grew up as a farmer in the late 1800s and first began his career as a dentist. As his career developed he spent time documenting the foods of indigenous people and its effects on their mental, dental, and otherwise physical health.
Based on the knowledge he had from doctors before him, he came to better understand the benefits and proper usage of important vitamins such as A, B, C, and D among others.
Eventually, Price wrote a novel on his findings titled "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration". His writings depicted that disease and disability, both mental and physical, were not due to simply bad genes. Instead, he wrote of the negative effects that certain foods had on the human genome.
Price is famous in many circles for his countless additions to the nutrition field as well as his pavement through understanding the modern diet.

I felt this was an important figure to mention as his work accounts for much of the fundamentals we include when discussing nutrition today. Without his contributions, there is no telling how the perspective of food health may have been changed.
